![]() These little issues are a surprise because Nintendo usually avoids them. Unfortunately, I do have some paint issues with my Mario including a black dot near his eye and some plain white paint that spilled on his jacket. The glossy white paint on his suit also really looks good and fits the occasion. For example, Mario’s hat is textured to make it look soft. Paint and Details – With a basic white color scheme, you might think that there are not many interesting details but there are some nice touches scattered throughout this figure. The pose helps this new Amiibo definitely stand out on your shelf and is pretty well designed. That is certainly something different and that is not a way I ever thought I would describe Mario! With that said, the pose is very charming and cute because of who Mario is. Pose – One area where there is plenty of room for variation with Mario figures is his pose and this is certainly something we haven’t seen before! Mario is obviously designed to fit with the new Peach and Bowser but if you had to describe how Mario on his own, it looks like he is either offering you something or asking for a dance. Fortunately, you get both with this Amiibo and who wouldn’t want Mario in his wedding outfit!?! Since this is a Mario Amiibo it is safe to assume it will work in a lot of other Nintendo games as well so it is a good value if you’re looking for a figure that will work in many different games. I’m not a huge fan of when you use an Amiibo to make the game easier but I love when they unlock skins or costumes. Red, gold, and white obviously work well with Mario and look classy for a wedding but if you look closely, there is an atlas-like style to the background that really looks cool and fits the theme of Super Mario Odyssey.įunctionality – On the back of the Amiibo, Nintendo describes how this Amiibo can be used in Mario Odyssey. With that said, let’s jump in and take a closer look at the latest Mario Amiibo from Nintendo!īox – Nintendo put together an interesting design for these new Amiibo boxes. These Amiibo have a lot of character to them and offer something different than any other Mario figure we’ve seen. Like the other amiibo outfits these can be unlocked in-game without the amiibo, but it will be a while before you can do so.Has there been a more anticipated game than Super Mario Odyssey this year? I can’t think of many and even for someone like me who does not have a Switch yet, I was still pumped for the release of the game because I knew we were getting new Mario figures alongside. You can scan these amiibo via Uncle amiibo to unlock three wedding outfits for Mario based on the outfits worn by the amiibo. Three new amiibo launched alongside the game – Mario, Peach and Bowser in their wedding outfits. Rotate your camera until you can see it, and then head in that direction to find some purple coins.Īll variants of Bowser amiibo will grant this bonus. Rather than putting them on the map, a purple circle will appear somewhere on the screen. ![]() This power-up will mark the location of some uncollected Regional Coins on your screen. This power-up will restore a single point of life. This bonus gives you a few extra coins to spend on items. Any variant of Peach will grant this bonus. This power-up will give you a special heart that raises your maximum Life by 3 until the extra Life is depleted. All variants of Mario amiibo will grant this ability. This power-up will temporarily stop your Life from depleting when enemies attack you. Doing so will bring the amiibo icon up on the screen and allow you to tap an amiibo (but it won’t pause the game so watch out). You can scan any amiibo at any time during gameplay by holding the right directional button. You can view a video showcasing each of these costumes below, and then continue scrolling to see which amiibo will unlock each one. These are unlockable in-game without amiibo, but scanning amiibo will save you some time. If you scan certain amiibo at this point then you’ll unlock a hat and outfit for Mario to wear. Once they come back you’ll have the locations of uncollected Power Moons marked on your map. Up to three amiibo can search for moons at once, and you’ll need to wait five minutes for them to return before you can scan another. Speak to him and you’ll be able to get him to scan any amiibo figure to search for a Power Moon location. From then on you can find him at the starting point of any kingdom once you’ve beaten the guided ‘story’ portion of it. You can first encounter him once you’ve beaten the boss of the Cascade Kingdom, he’s the little roomba-like character who’s waiting near where you started the level. Uncle amiibo is your main port of call for amiibo use.
